Visitor Information and Guidelines
Waiting Areas
There is a specially designated lounge area for visitors in the lobby at the main entrance of the medical center. Other waiting areas are located on B-wing, by the Emergency Department, and by the Outpatient Department.
Condition Reports
Any personal information about your diagnosis and treatment must come from your physician, and this information is only available to members of your immediate family whom you designate to receive it.
Food Service
Chef Brian Cochrane and the great staff of The Grill at 1705 staff provide food service for patients, guests and employees. You can order from the menu or go through the cafeteria line. To place an order at The Grille for pickup, call 821-5366. Hours: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. If you are planning an event, Brian and his staff, through Cattle Call Catering Co., can provide just the right menu and right touches to make it special. Gifts for Patients
Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts of food or drink to patients. Please check with the nurse to make sure your gift is appropriate. On the Intensive Care Unit, please check with the nursing staff regarding any gifts for patients.
Gift Shop
The Gift Shop, staffed by volunteers, is open from 9 am until 4 pm daily. The shop has jewelry, magazines, greeting cards, candy, toiletries and other gift items. You may reach the gift shop by calling extension 323.
Chapel
The chapel is located in the northeast corner of the medical center adjacent to the cafeteria. Visitors of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel for worship services, prayer and meditation.
Transportation
For our wheelchair patients and our elderly patients or those without transportation, a free shuttle service is available. The service operates between the patient's home and the medical center, the doctor's office, treatment centers, and rural health clinics. Transportation is scheduled through the patient's doctor's office. For more information about the shuttle service, call the front desk (O) or 225-2511..
- Visitors may not smoke in patient rooms or anywhere in the hospital or within 25 feet of the building.
- Visitors must dress appropriately and must wear shirts and shoes.
- People with colds, sore throats or any contagious diseases should not visit patients.
- Visits should be kept short.
- Visitors should maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise.
- Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments or when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient.
