GPRMC Donates Computer Equipment to Kiowa County Sheriffs’ Office.

GPRMC’s server virtualization initiative has resulted in the early retirement of several pieces of server hardware. Virtualization provides a way to consolidate several server applications onto a single device.

“Fewer physical servers reduce the power and cooling requirements needed to maintain our systems while increasing operational flexibility and improving business continuity. We are pleased to be able to re-task a couple of our servers for use at the sheriffs’ office. We are well aware of the challenges public institutions face in implementation and maintenance of information technology and enjoyed the opportunity to partner with the Kiowa County Sheriffs’ office” said Terry Davis, Director of Information Technology for Great Plains Regional Medical Center.

“Computer security is an essential component of our day to day operations. The donation of these servers allow us to further enhance security and protect our systems without taking away scarce department resources from our primary mission of providing effective and quality law enforcement services.” says Sheriff Russ Tate.
